In the cutscene, when the Envious Tougue got out of the Hundred-Eye Daoist Master, there were 7 seeds in the seedpod. But after the ending animation of Chapter 4, we can see there was one seed missing. This could be a hint that Bajie used a bit of the relic's power to save his former lover Violet Spider because he was the one that actually collected the relic in the cutscene.
Nodes
Upon obtaining the relic, players can activate one of its three nodes, obtaining a unique benefit. When the relic is recollected in a [New Game+](/new-game2b) a second node can be activated, and a third in New Game++.
Location
Envious Tongue is automatically obtained upon completing Chapter 4 by defeating [Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master](/hundred-eyed-daoist-master).
