Violet Hail is given to Daoist Mi, which turns him hostile.
You will need to complete this quest before defeating The Duskveil.

From the Purple Cloud Mountain's Petalfall Hamlet, continue forward. After crossing a bridge, you will go two sets of stairs on the left. Daoist Mi can be found on the left, playing a flute. Speak with him and he will want you to find him Violet Hail. Now defeat nearby enemies until one of them drops it. Its a random drop.
