Wandering Wight
Description
The Wandering Wight in Black Myth: Wukong serves as a haunting figure, drawing inspiration from the myriad of spirits and ghosts encountered in Journey to the West. In the classic novel, the Monkey King and his companions frequently confront malevolent spirits and restless ghosts, representing the challenges of the spiritual world on their journey.
In the game, the Wandering Wight appears as an optional boss, embodying the fears and unresolved issues of the past. While not directly lifted from Journey to the West, it echoes the themes of redemption, spiritual unrest, and the dangers of the supernatural that the original story often explores .
Location
From the [Black Wind Mountain](/black-wind-mountain), [Forest of Wolves](/forest-of-wolves), "Outside the Forest" shrine, head ahead, past the two enemies, there is a third, past it turn right and you will see the Wandering Wight. Upon its defeat, he will drop his spirit, but you can't collect it at the moment. You can later retrieve it via Keeper's Shrine when you obtain the ability to collect spirits, which is shortly after [Bamboo Grove](/bamboo-grove)'s Snake Trail Shrine.
His spirit is missable if you defeat [Elder Jinchi](/elder-jinchi) before defeating Wandering Wight. At that point, Wandering Wight will disappear and you can obtain it in New Game+.
Behaviour
Much like Elder Jinchi, Wandering Wight attacks with powerful chi-based palm strikes, thunderclaps and shockwaves that can travel a wide area. He can headbutt opponents with his huge head, perform sweeping arm strikes, and use a flying dropkick attack as well.
