Fright Cliff

Fright Cliff is a Location in Black Myth: Wukong. Fright Cliff is part of the Yellow Wind Ridge.

Squall Hideout

From the [Sandgate Village](/sandgate-village)'s Valley of Despair Shrine, turn right and head towards a rope bridge. Continue straight ahead and after defeating two new enemies you will get the Fright Cliff introduction. Again continue forward and you will see the shrine ahead. The following Chiefs and Kings are located here:

Rockrest Flat

From the Squall Hideout Shrine, turn left and enter the big cave, continue going forward only and eventually you will be out of the cave. The shrine is right in front. Alternatively, you can go right from the Squall Hideout Shrine and just go straight ahead. At the end, you will be forced to take a left, and will see the shrine ahead of you. The following Chiefs and Kings are located here:

Hidden Loong Cavern

From the Rockrest Flat Shrine, turn right and head upstairs. At the end, there will be a waterfall which can be dispelled with [Loong Scales](/loong-scales). After the waterfall is gone, you can go in and will be transported to the Hidden Loong Cavern where you can fight [Black Loong](/black-loong). The following Chiefs and Kings are located here:

Rock Clash Platform

From the Rockrest Flat Shrine, turn left and continue until you can turn left again. After passing the big open area with [Stone Vanguard](/stone/stone-vanguard), it will be right behind the Stone Vanguard on the right side.

Background

Many place names come from the environment descriptions in the Journey to the West. Fright Cliff (挟魂崖), comes from Chapter 20 of "Journey to the West" titled "At Yellow Wind Ridge the Tang Monk meets adversity; In mid-mountain, Eight Rules strives to be first." describes the scenery as follows: ... This mountain, whether tall or not, Its top reached the blue sky; This stream, whether deep or not, Its floor opened to Hell below. Before the mountain, White clouds rose in continuous rings And boulders in shapes grotesque. Countless the soul-rending cliffs (挟魂崖) ten thousand yards deep; ...
